Binance has been registered as a cryptocurrency service provider by the Italian financial regulator, the Organismo Agenti e Mediatori (OAM), enabling the crypto exchange to offer crypto products to Italian customers in compliance with Italian laws. Binance’s receipt of regulatory approval to operate in the Italian market follows its approval by the French financial regulator, the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), to operate as a registered Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) in France. Binance has also been licensed to provide cryptocurrency services in Bahrain and Dubai. The moves are in line with the view of Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao, that “clear and effective regulation is essential for mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies.”
